Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Position Summary
  • The Inventory Controller & Material Specialist is responsible for managing, monitoring, and optimizing the company s inventory and material resources. This role ensures accurate stock levels, timely availability of materials, and efficient handling of logistics to support operational and project requirements. The position plays a key role in cost control, supply chain efficiency, and compliance with company policies.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Inventory Control
  • Maintain accurate inventory records across warehouses and storage locations.
  • Monitor stock levels and initiate replenishment as required.
  • Perform regular cycle counts, stock audits, and reconciliation with system records.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies between physical stock and system records.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and storage standards.
  • Material Management
  • Oversee material receiving, storage, and issuance processes.
  • Prepare and verify material requests, issue vouchers, and transfer notes.
  • Classify, code, and tag materials for proper identification and tracking.
  • Monitor shelf life, expiry dates, and condition of stored materials.
  • Coordinate material returns and disposal of obsolete/expired stock.
  • Planning & Coordination
  • Support procurement by providing accurate demand forecasts and inventory reports.
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely delivery of required materials.
  • Work closely with suppliers, logistics, and customs teams for smooth material flow.
  • Participate in material requirement planning (MRP) to minimize shortages and excess stock.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in inventory control, supply chain, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to manage and optimize inventory in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities across departments.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct accurate inventory audits and reconciliations.
  • Experience developing and implementing inventory control procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an office setting.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and integrity.
