Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The Network Planner is responsible for optimizing aircraft utilization and schedule integrity by planning, allocating, and monitoring aircraft assignments in alignment with operational, maintenance, crew, and commercial requirements. The role ensures effective coordination between IOCC, maintenance planning, dispatch, crew planning, commercial team and network management to support reliable operations, schedule resilience, and informed management decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assign aircraft to planned flight schedules in accordance with aircraft availability, maintenance requirements, and operational constraints.
  • Maintain an optimized aircraft rotation plan that balances utilization, reliability, and recovery capability.
  • Evaluate and confirm feasibility of additional flights, including ad-hoc, charter, or schedule enhancements, based on fleet availability and operational readiness.
  • Coordinate closely with Maintenance Planning to integrate daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks into aircraft assignment plans.
  • Ensure aircraft routes support planned maintenance events while minimizing operational disruption.
  • Monitor upcoming maintenance constraints and proactively adjust aircraft assignments as required.
  • Ensure all aircraft assignments comply with operational, regulatory, and contractual limitations.
  • Track and analyze actual aircraft utilization versus planned schedules.
  • Provide regular reports and insights to management and leadership on fleet usage,
  • Identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities related to aircraft utilization and network robustness.
  • Communicate schedule strengths, constraints, and opportunities to Network Management to support commercial and strategic planning decisions.
  • Monitor potential crew planning constraints arising from aircraft assignments and schedule structure.
  • Support operational recovery planning by identifying historical trends related to crew pairings and resource limitations.
  • Liaise with Crew Planning to mitigate risks associated with crew availability, duty limitations, and recovery scenarios.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor s degree in aviation management, Operations, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent operational experience).
  • Solid understanding of airline operations, aircraft & crew scheduling, dispatch restrictions, ground operation aspects, and maintenance planning principles.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to flight scheduling, and operational approvals.
  • Minimum: 3 5 years of experience in airline operations, network control, scheduling, or fleet/maintenance planning.
  • Preferred: Experience in a commercial airline IOCC environment with direct involvement in aircraft assignment, maintenance coordination, and operational planning decision-making.
  • Experience with airline scheduling, fleet planning, or IOCC operational tools.
