Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:
- Manage the company's intellectual property docketing system for patents, trademarks and related matters.
- Create, manage, and maintain foreign and domestic intellectual property matters.
- Assist with portfolio data management, including matter creation, transfers and closures.
- Monitor communications from outside counsel law firms and docket deadlines and tasks for in-house attorneys and paralegals.
- Perform quality control audits of docket entries to ensure accuracy, completeness, and data integrity.
- Generate regular reports for attorneys and management regarding portfolio status, upcoming deadlines, workload metrics and compliance tracking.
- Learn and understand the company's IP docketing processes, proactively identify opportunities for improvement, and implement best practices to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of the docketing process.
Minimum Requirements
As the successful candidate you will have:
- A Bachelor's degree. A paralegal certificate preferred.
- Minimum 5 years professional and relevant patent docketing experience, gained in a major international law firm or major corporate legal department.
- Experience with patent and trademark prosecution, and foreign patent and trademark databases and websites.
- Strong writing skills in English, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to effectively prioritize workload.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite including Excel.
- Thorough knowledge of IP docketing software (Unycom is a plus).
- Proficiency in communicating in English, both written and spoken.
