The Role

The successful candidate will be a reflective and dynamic educator who contributes meaningfully to both student learning and school culture. They will design learning experiences that help students understand Islamic principles and values in a way that is relevant, inclusive, and accessible for non-Arabic speakers.

As our Secondary School expands into Year 8, we are seeking a teacher who will take the lead in developing and delivering the Islamic Education B curriculum, based on the UAE Ministry of Education framework. The ideal candidate will be skilled at making Islamic Education meaningful for international students by connecting lessons to real-life experiences, moral development, and intercultural understanding while upholding the spirit and beauty of Islam in every classroom experience.

• Plan and deliver purposeful, inclusive, and challenging lessons aligned with the National Curriculum for England.

Candidate Profile

Essential

• A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, BEd or equivalent)
• A minimum of 2 years teaching experience in a relevant setting
• Evidence of strong teaching practice and student progress
• Alignment with DBSJ s ethos and commitment to professional reflection and growth
• Willingness to contribute to extra-curricular and whole-school initiatives
• Understanding of data-informed teaching and inclusive strategies

Desirable

• Experience in British or international curriculum schools
• Familiarity with KHDA or DSIB frameworks
