Roles & Responsibilities

Zewail City of Science, Technology and Innovation is seeking a dynamic and experienced Associate Director of Information Technology to lead key initiatives that support the institution s academic, research, and administrative missions. Reporting directly to the CIO, the Associate Director will play a central role in driving digital transformation, ensuring secure and efficient IT operations, and shaping the future of technology at Zewail City.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the CIO to define and implement an IT strategy aligned with the Zewail City's overall vision and institutional goals
  • Infrastructure & Operations: Lead the planning, implementation, and optimization of IT infrastructure, including data centers, networks, and cloud services.
  • Cybersecurity & Compliance: Oversee cybersecurity initiatives, ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations, and lead enterprise risk management activities.
  • Digital Transformation: Spearhead smart campus initiatives, enterprise system integrations, process automation, and institution-wide data analytics efforts.
  • Enterprise Applications: Manage the support and enhancement of enterprise systems; familiarity with SAP ERP is highly desirable.
  • Team Management: Supervise and mentor IT managers and staff, fostering a collaborative, innovative, and service-oriented team culture.
  • Business Continuity: Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure resilience across all IT operations.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • A Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline is required; a Master s degree is preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as ITIL, PMP, CISM, CISSP, AWS Solutions Architect, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in IT, including at least 5 years in a senior management or leadership role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in enterprise IT infrastructure, systems integration, and managing large-scale IT projects.
  • Strong knowledge of IT governance, cybersecurity frameworks, and compliance standards.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP ERP systems is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
