IT Operator (Banking Sector)

Manage all IT Data Center activities and deputise Shift Supervisors in their absence

Be familiar with operating standards and operate computers for all running Batch processes and on-line system

Study new operating instructions and raise any problems or queries immediately

Arrange for engineers to be called in the event of suspected hardware fault

Initiate jobs as per the daily/weekly/monthly sheet plan and prepare monthly shift schedule

ensure daily fault forms are entered in the system and produce the highest quality of work and accuracy

Carry out restart and recovery procedures in the event of run failure or abandon the run

Provide details of the error for system support staff to take corrective action in the event of job failure

Monitor all mission-critical systems such as core banking systems, ATM gateway, Internet banking, Card systems, SMS gateway and etc...using the various monitoring tools, maintain and complete the operational logs

Monitor ATM transactions & CTL online authorization status on the screen

Carry out quality control checks on output in accordance with job instructions

ensure that conditions of temperature and humidity as specified by the standards are maintained in the data center

Be responsible for all the jobs run during shift, monitor their progress, and cooperate with other shifts

To participate in the practical training of newly introduced systems

Perform backup & restore of all systems as per procedure and ensure the backup tapes are stored in fireproof cabinets

Be familiar with the firefighting system and know how to use it

Attend to duty as and whenever required by the Bank

Run special/end-of-the-month jobs as of when required on development and DR.

Maintain confidentiality with respect to the information obtained during the day-to-day

performance of duties and responsibilities

Keep up-to-date of IT development

Assist and carry out any other assignments given by the Unit/Department Head from time to time

Adhere to and implement departmental policies, systems, and procedures, and ensure quality and cost-effective service.

To automate manual tasks and have better proactive monitoring.
