Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Parsons is seeking an IT Specialist to support the end-to-end delivery of a large-scale Geospatial Digital Twin programme for a major national infrastructure owner in the Middle East. This multi-year initiative will design, build, and operationalize an Operational Digital Twin platform that integrates geospatial data, real-time IoT/SCADA feeds, asset information, AI/ML components, and core enterprise systems to enable data-driven planning, operations, and maintenance. The role will work closely with the Solution Architect, Cybersecurity SME, Integration Lead, and a team of international experts, developers, and engineers.
The scope spans discovery and stakeholder engagement, IT infrastructure and platform design, proof-of-concept delivery, implementation of a production-grade environment, post-implementation support, and structured training and knowledge transfer. The IT Specialist will help identify and specify IT environments (including compute/GPUs, storage, networking, and platform services) required for complex software integrations in the Geospatial Digital Twin, design and support implementation of these environments, and assist in designing, implementing, and managing federated identity and access solutions across the organisation and with external partners.
What You ll Be Doing
- Support the Solution Architect and Product Manager in defining IT infrastructure and platform requirements (compute, GPUs, storage, networking, backup/recovery) for the Operational Digital Twin across discovery, PoC, implementation, and post-implementation support phases
- Assist in sizing, specifying, and documenting on-premises and/or cloud environments needed to host GIS, AI/ML, integration, data, and application components, taking into account performance, scalability, and resilience requirements
- Help design and support implementation of identity and access architectures, including federated identity solutions across the organisation and with external partners, in coordination with cybersecurity and enterprise IT teams
- Support configuration and management of identity providers, single sign-on, and role-based access controls for the Digital Twin platform and integrated applications, ensuring alignment with security and governance policies
- Assist in coordinating infrastructure-related activities with internal IT, cloud, and security teams, including environment provisioning, connectivity, monitoring, and incident response arrangements
- Help prepare and maintain IT architecture and configuration documentation, operational runbooks, and environment diagrams, and support testing, go-live, and post-go-live operations for IT environments
What Required Skills You ll Bring
- Degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution
- Experience supporting design and implementation of IT infrastructure and platforms for complex, integrated software solutions, preferably in infrastructure, utilities, or urban environments
- Working knowledge of sizing and specifying environments for compute-intensive workloads (including GPUs), high-availability storage, and network connectivity for geospatial, AI/ML, and integration-heavy systems
- Experience designing, implementing, or managing federated identity and access solutions (e.g., using , , , or similar), including single sign-on and role-based access control
- Exposure to cloud platforms and/or virtualised on-premises environments, and to monitoring, backup/recovery, and basic operations tooling
- Experience working within multidisciplinary, multinational teams across multiple time zones
- Strong organisational and coordination skills, with some experience in structured project or delivery environments (e.g., PMI, PRINCE2, Agile/Hybrid)
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to clearly describe IT and IAM designs and requirements to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Fluency in spoken and written English; Arabic language skills are a strong advantage
What Desired Skills You ll Bring
- Prior work with national infrastructure owners, transport authorities, utilities, or public works organisations
- Professional certifications in infrastructure, cloud, or identity technologies (e.g., Microsoft, AWS, or similar)
