Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
As an IT Systems & Patch Management Senior Engineer, you re responsible for ensuring the security, stability, and compliance of the organization s IT infrastructure by managing and deploying timely patches and updates across systems, while collaborating with IT and security teams to minimize risks and maintain optimal system performance.
Your job responsibilities include the following:
- Manage and deploy patches and updates across Windows Server and other systems using patch management tools such as WSUS, SCCM, Ivanti, and Big Fix, ensuring timely and secure updates.
- Monitor and assess the impact of patches on system performance and stability, leveraging system auditing techniques to identify issues proactively.
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies and network security standards, maintaining regulatory and security requirements throughout patch management activities.
- Collaborate with IT security, network, and system teams to schedule and coordinate patch deployments, minimising operational disruption.
- Troubleshoot patch deployment failures and related system issues using PowerShell scripting, Active Directory management, and other diagnostic tools to resolve problems efficiently.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of patch management processes, system configurations, and audit logs to support compliance and operational transparency.
- Provide regular reports on patch status, compliance levels, and system health to stakeholders, utilising data from patch management tools and auditing systems.
- Conduct regular audits of patch levels and system configurations to verify compliance and identify vulnerabilities, applying system auditing best practices.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in IT systems management or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of Windows and Unix operating systems and patch management processes.
- Experience with patch management tools such as Big Fix, Ivanti, WSUS, SCCM, or equivalent.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
