Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and customize Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Jira Workflows to meet business and delivery needs.
  • Develop and maintain custom Jira workflows, screens, schemes, fields, and permissions.
  • Implement Jira automation rules, post-functions, validators, and conditions to streamline processes.
  • Integrate Jira with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins, Azure DevOps), Confluence, Bitbucket, and other enterprise systems.
  • Support Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and ITSM processes within Jira.
  • Design and maintain custom dashboards, reports, and KPIs for projects, programs, and management.
  • Manage Jira upgrades, performance tuning, user access, and security configurations.
  • Provide L3 support for Jira-related incidents, issues, and enhancements.
  • Collaborate with PMO, DevOps, engineering, and business teams to gather and translate requirements.
  • Ensure Jira configurations align with governance, compliance, and audit requirements.
  • Document configurations, solutions, and operating procedures.
  • Support Jira data migration, cleanup, and archiving activities.

Desired Candidate Profile

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • 6 8 years of hands-on experience working with Jira (Software and/or Service Management).
  • Strong expertise in Jira administration and customization.
  • Solid understanding of Agile and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with Jira REST APIs and integrations.
  • Hands-on experience with Groovy (ScriptRunner) or similar automation/customization tools.
  • Good knowledge of SQL and data structures.
  • Experience integrating Jira with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have / Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing custom Jira plugins/apps using Java and Atlassian SDK.
  • Experience with Confluence customization and integration.
  • Exposure to ITSM processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Request).
  • Experience in large enterprise or telecom environments.
  • Atlassian certifications (ACP-xxx) are a plus.
  • Experience with SAFe or enterprise Agile at scale.
