Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The Jr. Quantity Surveyor works on payments, variations and the financial part of claims for their assigned project. This Job Profile establishes general responsibilities for the designated position and is not intended to be exhaustive.

Desired Candidate Profile

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the production and tracking of inspection records (RFI) based on the requests and inputs from the project engineer

  • Ensure correct completion of inspection records (RFI) working with the project engineer/project QA/QC engineer

  • Ensure all inspection records can be traced to the relevant bill items

  • Ensure all material information; total, ordered, received, installed, inventory, and remaining quantities are accurately maintained and reported

  • Review and reply to correspondence regarding payments and variations with subcontractors/suppliers

  • Prepare payment application data and variation data

  • Prepare/gather data and documents required to support contract payments, variations, site instructions, and claims

  • Perform quantity take-off

  • Assist in the preparation of the commercial part of claims

  • Report on the status of payments and variations

  • Maintain project records (filing system) of payments, variations, site instructions, and claims

  • Assist senior quantity surveyor in analyzing commercial situations

  • Maintain necessary change control information

  • Prepare necessary information and data to allow for final accounts (main contract and subcontract)

  • Perform other duties as required
