Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable Management:

  • Process and post tenant payments (rent, CAM, utilities, etc.) accurately and efficiently to the correct accounts and properties.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly tenant invoices/rent statements in a timely manner.
  • Perform daily reconciliation of cash receipts and deposits.
  • Monitor the accounts receivable aging report and follow up on overdue accounts.
  • Investigate and resolve tenant billing discrepancies and payment issues.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date tenant records in the accounting software.
  • Assist with month-end closing procedures related to accounts receivable.

Collections:

  • Proactively contact tenants with overdue balances via phone and email in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Maintain a log of all collection activities and communications.
  • Work with tenants to establish payment plans when necessary.
  • Escalate persistent delinquencies to the Senior Accountant or Property Manager as per company policy.
  • Assist in preparing documentation for legal action or sending accounts to a collection agency, if required.

Tenant & Internal Support:

  • Respond to tenant inquiries regarding their accounts in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provide excellent customer service to resolve issues and maintain positive tenant relationships.
  • Collaborate closely with the property management team to address tenant-related financial matters.
  • Assist the finance team with ad-hoc reports and projects as needed.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

Up to 1 year of experience in an accounting, accounts receivable, or administrative role. Internships and relevant academic projects will be considered.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs a plus).

Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.

Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.

Professional and clear communication skills, both written and verbal.

A positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to learn.
