If you're a multidisciplinary designer with a passion for branding, digital storytelling, and motion graphics, this is your chance to bring bold ideas to life in an agency rooted in hospitality, creativity, and culture.
In this role, you’ll work closely with our Art and Creative Directors to conceptualise and execute visuals that span social media, campaigns, brand books, and everything in between. We're looking for someone with initiative, creative flair, and the ability to think beyond the brief.
Creative Designer – Job Description As a Creative Designer at Umami Comms, you will produce artwork and designs that can take on many different forms. You will create visuals with the guidance of the Art Director and Creative Director, as well as other team members, ensuring that the final product is aligned with the art and creative direction as well as client standards. The key factor to being a creative designer is versatility in design and animation, producing assets for an array of purposes. From advertisements and social media content, to graphic animations and brand books, the deliverables will vary.
You’ll be expected to bring proactive ideas to the table, lead design execution, and contribute to the creative energy that fuels our campaigns. From digital ads and brand books to social content and graphic animations, your work will be central to how our clients are seen and experienced.
Responsibilities
- Design creative and efficient graphics and animations.
- Collaborate with Art Director, Creative Director, and cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive execution of creative concepts.
- Participate in and occasionally lead brainstorming and ideation sessions, offering innovative ideas and pushing visual boundaries.
- Provide clear technical input when assessing timelines, feasibility, and production resources.
- Select appropriate mediums and styles based on the creative brief and audience.
- Review and refine work with internal stakeholders, incorporating feedback while maintaining design integrity.
- Stay on top of industry trends, tools, and techniques—consistently bringing new thinking to the team.
- Prepare and deliver final files in an organised, optimised manner for internal use and/or client delivery.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail under pressure.
- Strong visual storytelling skills and conceptual thinking.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable presenting ideas and giving/receiving constructive feedback.
- Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, etc.).
- Skilled in both static and motion design, with an understanding of when to use each effectively.
- Experience working across social media platforms, with knowledge of best practices per platform.
- Familiarity with project management and post-scheduling tools is a plus.
- A team player who is proactive, resourceful, and enthusiastic about collaborative creativity.
