Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Job Summary:

Assist in the preparation of detailed structural steel drawings, shop drawings, and fabrication details based on engineering designs and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

-Prepare shop drawings, GA drawings, and fabrication details for structural steel components.

-Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations.

-Use software such as AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, or similar tools for drafting and modeling.

-Produce cutting lists, bolt lists, and material take-offs.

-Revise drawings based on engineer/client comments.

-Coordinate with engineers, fabricators, and site teams to ensure accuracy.

-Maintain proper drawing records and documentation control.

-Ensure drawings comply with project standards and industry codes.

Desired Candidate Profile

-Diploma or degree, Structural Engineering, or Drafting.

-Basic knowledge of structural steel detailing and fabrication processes.

-Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD preferred; Tekla is a plus).

-Understanding of engineering drawings and symbols.

-Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

-Good communication and teamwork skills.

-0–2 years experience in structural steel drafting or a related field..


Preferred Skills:

-Knowledge of steel connections (bolted and welded).

-Ability to read and interpret shop construction drawings.
