Your role
- Ensure contractor s Electrical & Mechanical BIM models comply with: BEP, EIR, ISO 19650, project BIM standards and LOD/LOI requirements at each project stage
- Review and enforce naming conventions, coordinates, file structures, and data attributes
- Monitor adherence to BIM submission schedules and milestones
- Review Electrical & Mechanical BIM models for: power, lighting, ELV, fire alarm, earthing & lightning protection systems and constructability, accessibility, and maintainability
- Verify alignment with: approved design drawings & specifications and authority requirements (RTA/DEWA/Civil Defense etc.)
- Raise technical comments, NCRs, and non-compliance reports
- Lead and manage Electrical & Mechanical coordination with: architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Civil, and Systems models
- Review clash detection reports (Navisworks/Solibri): prioritize high-risk Electrical & Mechanical clashes and track resolution with contractor teams
- Ensure Electrical & Mechanical routing avoids conflicts with structure and MEP systems
- Review and approve: federated models, clash reports, model-based quantities (5D where applicable), 4D construction sequence integration related to Electrical & Mechanical works
- Ensure models are suitable for: construction and asset handover / FM integration
- Support teams using BIM for: electrical & Mechanical installation sequencing, access and clearance checks and temporary works coordination
- Validate shop drawings derived from BIM models
- Assist with RFI resolution using model-based analysis
- Ensure Electrical & Mechanical assets are properly tagged, classified and linked with O&M data
- Review COBie / asset data sheets (if required)
- Verify as-built Electrical & Mechanical models reflect site conditions accurately
- Track Electrical & Mechanical BIM progress vs baseline program
- Report risks, delays, and coordination issues to BIM Manager/PMC leadership
- Participate in BIM progress and coordination meetings
- Advise PMC & Client on: electrical & Mechanical BIM risks, constructability issues and design gaps discovered through models
- Challenge contractor assumptions when needed
- Experience in working with both consultants/contractors.
- Technically capable of producing and managing LOD 300, 400 & 500 BIM models.
- Will ensure construction documents accuracy based on discipline BIM modelling and the collaboration and coordination with other disciplines for design-changes and model challenges.
- Experience working in the Built Environment, in all discipline.
- Monitor and validate As-Built model tagging with all related project documents e.g. The H&S file(s) and O&M manual(s) etc.
- Prepare own discipline model and/or content for internal reviews and coordination meetings.
- Support BIM manager and project delivery team(s) in day-to-day BIM implementation activities.
- Support BIM manager with planning and construction activities with proposed 4D sequencing model(s) review and progress reporting.
- Provide progress and performance updates to BIM manager on fortnightly and monthly basis.
- Record, store and maintain all formal correspondences related to BIM activities.
- Must have solid understanding CDE platforms like BIM 360/ProjectWise.
- Monitor and support the data collection process and validate Asset Information Model (AIM) with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) requirements for eg. Construction Operation Building Information Exchange (COBIE) and/or client specific requirements.
- Providing Coordination reports of the interfaces between engineering disciplines / design and construction / temporary and permanent works design activities, through the BIM process
- Ensure Project Information Model (PIM) are delivered in accordance with the agreed TIDP, MIDP and CDE protocol.
- Collaborate and coordinate with the BIM manager design-changes and model challenges.
- Work closely with the BIM Manager to support the in-house architectural, general engineering, and civil design discipline teams with day-to-day and long-term duties, tasks, and training
- Understanding of Dynamo BIM.
- Coaching and mentoring training for project team related to BIM applications.
- Technically capable of handling point cloud data.
Desired Candidate Profile
An engineering degree, in Electrical & Mechanical or Mechanical engineering or equivalent
- A minimum of 5 years BIM experience
- Proven building project experience
- Manage / Update BIM Project Documents
- 3D Model Quantity Extraction / Verification
- Monitoring 4D (Time/Planning) & 5D (Cost) BIM deliverable as per the baseline program
- Experience working in a Design Consultancy and / or Contractor
- Extensive experience in Autodesk Revit, NavisWorks & AutoCAD, Civil 3D
- Advance understanding of creating Revit families
- Working knowledge of Information Standards ISO 19650 (Parts 1 & 2 at a minimum), PAS 1192, BS1192, MIDP and TIDP creation and MIDP Automation
- Knowledge of CDE platforms (ACC, BIM 360, ProjectWise, Aconex)
- Experience conducting clash detection and visual walkthroughs using Navisworks Manage
- Experience creating/tailoring project setups to suit the client
- Candidate must have worked on large scale projects.
