Kafka Support Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
Monitor, support, and maintain Kafka clusters across multiple environments (Dev, UAT, Production).
Perform Kafka administration tasks such as topic management, ACL configurations, broker maintenance, and partition management.
Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents, ensuring minimal downtime and quick recovery.
Work closely with application and data teams to ensure smooth message flow and data delivery.
Manage and optimize Kafka Connect connectors, including source and sink configurations.
Perform routine health checks, capacity planning, and performance tuning for Kafka environments.
Support and monitor IBM InfoSphere Data Replication (IIDR), specifically IBM Change Data Capture (CDC), including replication setup and troubleshooting.
Use the IBM CDC Management Console to manage subscriptions, monitor latency, and ensure data consistency.
Collaborate with DBAs and developers on issues related to Oracle data sources used in CDC or integration pipelines.
Automate operational tasks using shell scripts or other tools.
Participate in on-call rotation for production support.
