Job Description

Job Title: Key Accounts Lead

Job Objective: To support the Business Development and Key Accounts Manager by handling smaller accounts, managing day-to-day tasks, and ensuring timely follow-up on client activities. This role provides administrative, coordination, and client service support, enabling the Manager to focus on high-value clients and strategic growth initiatives. The Junior Account Executive will also gradually develop account management skills to take ownership of a defined client portfolio over time.

Strategic:

Account Support & Coordination

  • Support the Key Accounts Lead in managing the overall portfolio by handling smaller or lower-revenue accounts.
  • Act as point-of-contact for assigned accounts, ensuring timely responses to routine queries.
  • Follow up on quotations, proposals, and client feedback.
  • Maintain accurate client records in CRM and track account activity.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Assist in preparing reports on account performance, including revenue, service levels, and client activity.
  • Monitor account health and flag issues or risks to the Key Accounts Manager.
  • Support with the preparation of client review presentations and meeting materials.

Client Interaction & Service

  • Manage day-to-day communications with smaller clients and escalate complex matters to the Key Accounts Manager.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (operations, warehousing, transport) to resolve service issues for assigned accounts.
  • Ensure prompt resolution of minor client issues and inquiries.

Business Development Support

  • Research new opportunities within existing accounts and share with the Key Account Manager.
  • Track tender opportunities relevant to assigned accounts.
  • Assist with proposals, presentations, and submission materials.

Administrative & Team Support

  • Handle scheduling, meeting follow-ups, and action tracking for the Key Accounts Manager.
  • Keep account files organized (contracts, agreements, communications).
  • Support preparation for quarterly reviews and management meetings.
