Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including washing, chopping, and measuring as directed by the kitchen team.
- Dishwashing: Operate the dishwashing equipment and maintain a clean and organized dishwashing area. Ensure all dishes, utensils, and cookware are cleaned and sanitized.
- Cleaning and Sanitizing: Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen, including countertops, appliances, floors, and storage areas. Follow sanitation guidelines to ensure food safety.
- Stocking and Inventory: Assist with stocking and restocking kitchen supplies and ingredients. Notify the kitchen team when supplies are running low.
- Assistance During Service: Provide support to the kitchen team during busy service hours by fetching and carrying items, assisting with plating, and ensuring timely service.
- Waste Management: Properly dispose of food waste and other kitchen trash, following recycling and waste disposal procedures.
- Compliance: Follow all health and safety regulations and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Report any safety hazards or incidents promptly.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with chefs, cooks, and other kitchen staff to ensure efficient and organized operations.
- Adaptability: Be flexible and willing to take on various tasks as needed to assist in the smooth running of the kitchen.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous kitchen experience is a plus but not required.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift and carry moderate loads.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from senior kitchen staff.
- Positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
