Job Description:
Position Title: L0 NOC Monitoring Analyst
Experience Level: 1-3 Years
Employment Type: Full-Time
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented L0 NOC Monitoring Analyst to join our Network Operations Center (NOC) team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring the health, performance, and availability of IT infrastructure and network systems, ensuring timely identification and resolution of incidents. This entry-level role is crucial for maintaining uninterrupted operations and providing first-line support for technical issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network and System Monitoring:
- Monitor network devices, servers, applications, and IT infrastructure using monitoring tools like SolarWinds, Nagios, or similar platforms.
- Identify and escalate alerts related to performance degradation, outages, or security threats.
- Incident Management:
- Respond to alerts and incidents as per defined SLAs and escalation procedures.
- Log incidents in the ticketing system (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira) and ensure proper documentation.
- Perform initial troubleshooting and provide first-line resolution for basic issues.
- Escalation:
- Escalate unresolved incidents to L2/L3 teams or relevant stakeholders as per escalation protocols.
- Provide detailed incident reports to higher-level teams for further analysis.
- Communication:
- Notify stakeholders of critical incidents and provide regular updates on resolution progress.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with internal teams and external vendors.
- Reporting:
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on system performance, incidents, and resolutions.
- Assist in identifying trends and recurring issues for proactive management.
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
- Update knowledge base articles and standard operating procedures (SOPs) as needed.
- Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to organizational policies, SLAs, and ITIL best practices.
- Follow security protocols and guidelines to safeguard IT infrastructure.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred).
Experience:
- 1-3 years of experience in IT monitoring, network operations, or a similar role.
- Familiarity with NOC environments and monitoring tools is a plus.
- Technical Skills:
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG, Zabbix).
- Knowledge of ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira) is preferred.
- Basic troubleshooting skills for network and system issues.
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure effectively.
Certifications (Preferred):
- CompTIA Network+
- ITIL Foundation Certification
- CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)
Work Environment:
- Shifts: Must be willing to work in a 24/7 environment, including rotational shifts.
- Tools: Exposure to industry-standard monitoring and ticketing tools.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with L2/L3 teams and other departments to ensure seamless operations.
