Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Assist instructors during practical training by setting up equipment and ensuring the availability of materials.
Train and guide students on the safe use of laboratory equipment, including gas and air outlets, micromotors, and clinical simulation tools.
Monitor and regulate student behavior in labs, ensuring adherence to safety protocols (e.g., lab coats, no food/drinks/smoking).
Manage the controlled entry and exit of students during lab sessions, ensuring compliance with training schedules.
Distribute students across assigned lab stations and ensure acknowledgment of responsibility for any borrowed equipment or materials.
Supervise and maintain cleanliness and readiness of the labs before and after training sessions.

Regularly inspect and report on the maintenance needs of laboratory equipment and tools.

Prepare annual technical reports on consumables, equipment status, and procurement needs.

Monitor and ensure the availability of essential services within labs, such as air conditioning, IT access, and first aid supplies.

Assist in setting up final practical exams and coordinate with instructors on layout and model requirements.

Secure and maintain inventory of teaching aids (e.g., anatomical models, computers, projectors, cameras).

Promote a professional and positive image of BMC through excellent communication and customer service.

Attend and actively participate in internal meetings and professional engagements with external parties when assigned.

Maintain strict confidentiality of student and employee records in accordance with data privacy policies.

Observe health, safety, and quality standards as mandated by institutional and national regulations.

Support academic quality by aligning with teaching strategies and assessment standards.

Provide assistance during the absence of other staff or as assigned by the Program Head or College Dean.

Work flexible hours as needed, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, to support training or urgent tasks.

Follow administrative hierarchy in processing official documentation and requests.

Participate in internal investigations or audits related to professional conduct when assigned by the Head of Department.

Perform additional tasks as reasonably required by the Nursing Program Head, Vice Dean, or Dean of the College.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Laboratory Technology, or a related health sciences field.
- Experience in operating and maintaining educational laboratory equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic IT systems.
- Prior experience in medical or nursing colleges is preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Commitment to safety, professionalism, and student-centered support.
