Land Surveyor Sobha Al Siniya FZC, UMM Al QUWAIN

To perform accurate land and building layout surveys for high-rise construction projects. The Land Surveyor is responsible for interpreting construction drawings, establishing control points, verifying site levels, and ensuring precision in all surveying activities to support structural and civil works.

1. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Surveying & Site Layout
• Conduct detailed land and building layout surveys using total station, GPS, and other modern surveying instruments.
• Establish and maintain horizontal and vertical control points on site.
• Verify setting out points in alignment with architectural and structural drawings.
• Support construction teams by marking reference points for foundations, columns, walls, and slabs.

Data Collection & Interpretation
• Collect and analyze field data to ensure accurate measurements.
• Interpret and apply technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Prepare and maintain as-built drawings and survey records.

Coordination
• Coordinate with civil, structural, and MEP teams for ongoing survey requirements.
• Provide survey input during excavation, piling, concreting, and finishing works.

Compliance & Quality
• Ensure all survey works are performed in compliance with project specifications and QA/QC standards.
• Assist QA/QC teams with dimensional checks and reporting.

Equipment Handling & Maintenance
• Maintain survey instruments in proper working condition and ensure timely calibration.
• Ensure safe handling and storage of surveying equipment.

2. COMMUNICATION & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal:
• Engineering Team, Site Managers, QA/QC Engineers, Project Planning Team, Safety Team

External:
• Subcontractors’ technical teams
• Survey consultants or third-party verifiers (if applicable)

3. FRAMEWORKS, BOUNDARIES & DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY:

• Works within construction drawings, site plans, and surveying standards.
• Authorized to verify layout and elevations before major activities.
• Can report deviations, propose layout corrections, and halt work due to major discrepancies.
• Must adhere to strict quality control and safety standards.

4. QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Diploma or Degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field
• Certified Land Surveyor – Saudi Council of Engineering preferred (if applicable)
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in the construction industry
• Minimum 4 years' experience in high-rise building projects is mandatory
• Gulf experience preferred

5. SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

• Proficient in Total Station, GPS, AutoCAD, and surveying software
• Strong understanding of construction drawings and structural alignment
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a site team
• Good communication skills (English and Hindi essential)
• Knowledge of safety protocols and quality standards
• Time management and problem-solving skills
• Physically fit to handle site work under varying conditions
