Roles & Responsibilities


Job Title: Landscape Project Engineer


Section: Projects / Construction


Reports to: Project Manager


Location: Musandam Governorate / Throughout the Sultanate of Oman


Job summary:


A landscape engineer is responsible for planning, supervising, and executing all landscaping work at project sites, ensuring full adherence to approved plans, specifications, quality standards, and project timelines. The role requires close coordination with multidisciplinary teams, effective site management, and ensuring the successful delivery of landscaping work as required.


Main tasks and responsibilities


1. Pre-implementation phase


Reviewing landscape plans and designs, specifications, and contract documents.

Preparation, development and updating of shop drawings and as-built drawings.

Coordination with civil, electrical and mechanical teams to avoid design and implementation conflicts.

Contributing to the preparation of Bills of Quantities (BOQs), Materials Approvals and Schedules.

Selecting and recommending plant species suitable for the local climate, soil conditions and sustainability requirements.

2. On-site supervision and implementation

Supervising all landscaping work, including:

Site leveling and soil preparation

Irrigation system installation

Solid works (pavements, walkways, decorative elements)

Agricultural works (trees, shrubs, green spaces)

Ensuring that work is carried out according to the approved plans and specifications.

Monitoring the progress of daily work and preparing progress reports.

Efficiently manage labor, subcontractors, equipment and site resources.

3. Quality control and compliance


Conducting inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards and project requirements.

Review and approve the materials supplied to the site.

Submitting (IR) inspection requests and coordinating with consultants for their approval.

Ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.

4. Coordination and communication


Communicating with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.

Attending project meetings and providing technical input.

5. Post-implementation and delivery

Testing and verifying the performance of irrigation systems.

Supervising the maintenance period and plant growth.

Prepare plans as final implementation.

Coordination for project delivery to the client and relevant parties.

Providing guidance on the maintenance and operation of landscape works.

5- Qualifications and Requirements


Bachelor's degree in Landscape Engineering, Agriculture, Horticulture or a related field.

At least 5 years of experience in implementing and supervising landscape projects.

Strong knowledge of irrigation systems, plant selection, and agricultural practices.

Proficiency in using AutoCAD, Microsoft Office programs, and related design tools.

Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.

The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

A valid driver's license.
