Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain laser cutting machines, ensuring optimal performance and output quality by adhering to production schedules.
- Program and adjust cutting parameters (speed, power, focus) based on material type and thickness, using the machine's control software to achieve desired results.
- Monitor the laser cutting process, observing for any irregularities like incorrect cuts, material defects, or equipment malfunctions, and make necessary adjustments.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning lenses, mirrors, and the cutting bed, and report any significant mechanical issues to the maintenance team.
- Inspect finished products for dimensional accuracy, edge quality, and any other defects, using precision measuring tools to ensure they meet specifications.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files to understand cutting requirements and ensure accurate execution of designs.
- Optimize material usage by nesting parts efficiently to minimize waste and maximize the yield of each sheet or piece of material.
- Collaborate with other team members, such as designers and quality control personnel, to address any issues or improve the cutting process.
Desired Candidate Profile
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; further education in a technical field is a plus.
- A strong understanding of CAD/CAM software and the ability to interpret technical drawings is crucial.
