Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Manual Lathe Operator to operate conventional lathe machines for machining and finishing metal components as per technical drawings and production requirements. The candidate should have good knowledge of machining processes, measuring instruments, and workshop safety practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate conventional/manual lathe machines independently.

  • Perform turning, facing, threading, drilling, boring, and tapering operations.

  • Read and understand engineering drawings and job specifications.

  • Set up tools, fixtures, and workpieces on the machine.

  • Ensure dimensional accuracy using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

  • Carry out machine adjustments and basic maintenance activities.

  • Maintain production quality and meet production targets.

  • Follow workshop safety standards and housekeeping procedures.

  • Coordinate with supervisors and quality inspectors regarding production requirements.

  • Report machine issues or material defects immediately.

Desired Candidate Profile

  1. ITI / Diploma in Mechanical or related field.

  2. Minimum 5 years of experience as a Manual Lathe Operator.

  3. Experience in heavy fabrication or machine shop environment preferred.

  4. Good knowledge of conventional machining practices.
