Job Title : Laying Manager Airport Projects

Job Purpose:

To plan, supervise, and coordinate all laying works (asphalt, concrete, sub-base, and utilities) at the airport construction site, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements within the given timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Planning & Coordination

• Plan daily laying activities in coordination with project and site engineers.
• Ensure proper sequencing of works related to runway, taxiway, and apron pavements.
• Coordinate with QA/QC, survey, and materials teams for smooth execution.

2. Execution & Supervision

• Supervise laying of asphalt, concrete, or utility ducts in accordance with design and standards (e.g., ICAO, FAA, or DGCA guidelines).
• Ensure compaction, thickness, and finish meet project and quality requirements.
• Monitor equipment usage (pavers, rollers, batching plants, etc.) and ensure optimal productivity.

3. Quality & Compliance

• Ensure materials used meet approved specifications and testing requirements.
• Conduct joint inspections with quality control and client representatives.
• Ensure works comply with airport safety and operational protocols.

4. Manpower & Equipment Management

• Allocate and supervise site teams, operators, and subcontractors effectively.
• Ensure equipment is well maintained and calibrated for accuracy.
• Manage shifts for night or day operations as per airport work schedules.

5. Safety & Environmental Compliance

• Enforce strict adherence to safety procedures, PPE usage, and hazard control.
• Coordinate with HSE teams to conduct toolbox talks and risk assessments.
• Implement environmental protection measures during laying operations.

6. Reporting & Documentation

• Maintain daily progress reports, material consumption logs, and quality checklists.
• Report deviations, delays, and technical issues to the Project Manager promptly.
• Participate in progress meetings and submit periodic status updates.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Diploma/Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 5 - 10 years of experience in road, runway, or airport pavement laying operations.
• Strong technical knowledge of asphalt/concrete mix design, compaction, and surfacing techniques.
• Experience with airport authorities or EPC contractors preferred.
