Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead civil design and engineering aspects for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects, ensuring structural integrity and compliance.
  • Oversee site layout and grading plans, optimizing land use and minimizing environmental impact for BESS facilities.
  • Manage the design and construction of foundations, access roads, and other civil infrastructure specific to BESS installations.
  • Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to integrate civil designs with BESS components and systems.
  • Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations for civil works related to BESS projects.
  • Conduct site investigations and assessments, considering geotechnical conditions and identifying potential challenges for BESS construction.
  • Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations, codes, and standards for civil engineering in BESS projects.
  • Manage and mentor a team of civil engineers and designers, providing technical guidance and support for BESS projects.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets and schedules for civil engineering tasks within BESS projects.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies throughout the project lifecycle for BESS initiatives.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant design software is essential.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university is a must.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in civil engineering, with at least 3 years focused on energy storage or related infrastructure projects.
  • Proven experience in designing and managing civil works for large-scale infrastructure projects, ideally BESS.
