Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The key objectives for this role are:

  • Developing strategies tailored to geological conditions to maximize production efficiency.
  • Choosing and overseeing the deployment of tools like packers, perforating guns, and sand control systems.
  • Collaborating with drilling engineers, geologists, and production teams to align completion strategies with overall project goals.
  • Analyzing well data post-completion to assess productivity and implement interventions like well stimulation.
  • Ensuring adherence to industry regulations and environmental standards throughout the completion process

RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Accountabilities:
  • Lead and manage all mechanical commissioning activities across assigned projects.
  • Ensure commissioning is executed in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with engineering, construction, and operations teams to ensure readiness for commissioning.
  • Develop and implement commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules.
  • Ensure all mechanical systems are tested, validated, and handed over in a fully operational state.

Planning & Coordination
  • Prepare detailed commissioning execution plans and resource requirements.
  • Interface with project stakeholders including clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Schedule and lead commissioning meetings and progress reviews.

Execution & Supervision
  • Supervise mechanical commissioning activities including flushing, pressure testing, equipment alignment, and functional testing.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE standards during all commissioning phases.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues during commissioning and start-up.

Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate records of commissioning activities, test results, and punch lists.
  • Prepare and submit commissioning reports and system handover documentation.
  • Ensure all documentation is aligned with project and client requirements.

Team Leadership
  • Lead and mentor commissioning technicians and junior engineers.
  • Ensure team members are trained and aware of safety and technical procedures.

Quality Assurance
  • Verify that mechanical systems meet design specifications and performance criteria.
  • Conduct inspections and audits to ensure quality standards are maintained.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in mechanical systems commissioning, preferably in oil & gas, energy, or industrial sectors.
  • Proven track record of leading commissioning activities on large-scale projects.
  • Experience working with EPC contractors and clients like ADNOC, Aramco, or similar.

Education Background:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Advanced certifications in commissioning, project management, or safety (e.g., PMP, NEBOSH) are a plus.
