Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

1. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Support operational and technical staff to maximize operational efficiencies in refractory, CIL, flotation, and heap leach precious metal processing.

Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to site processing performance including throughput rates, gold recovery and overall process efficiency. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processing operations.

Monitor and analyze site operating costs inclusive of media consumption, reagent usage, power consumptions and water usage to achieve desired metallurgical outcomes. Seek opportunities to minimize costs.

Prepare presentations, reports, performance analyses and key findings for senior management to communicate key findings, achievements, and areas for improvement in gold processing operations.

Coaching and mentoring site metallurgical department personnel.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mining, geology, and maintenance, to integrate technical inputs, address operational challenges, and optimize processing workflows.

Prepare site-based metallurgical test work and process optimization activities to improve gold extraction efficiency and reduce operating costs

Liaise with external consultants, suppliers, and service providers to obtain technical support, expertise, and resources for gold processing operations, as needed.

Perform all additional duties as assigned. Support and assist site processing personnel to achieve budget and forecast plan

Maintain an operating cost tracker for benchmarking purposes. Identify cost reduction opportunities

Identify and undertake continuous improvement projects

Maintain visibility of future ore sources and mine schedules to ensure adequate metallurgical knowledge is available to characterize performance. Support Geometallurgy model development.

Manage external contracts to ensure outcomes are met within budget and schedule.

2. COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

Lead Metallurgist - Processing role needs to communicate frequently within technical services and operational teams for all matters related to Metallurgy and Process Engineering. There will be a requirement to undertake regular site visits and/or be site based to liaise with operational personnel to seek information, discuss potential projects and provide updates as necessary in relation to improvement projects. Some communications will be required with the Strategic Business Unit (SBU) and Project team to support company growth.

3. JOB RELEVANT INFORMATION (BOUNDARIES & DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY):

As a technical leader, the Lead Metallurgist - Processing position shall initiate and progress change for improvement in all aspects of metal processing within existing operations and the company s future growth pipeline. This position is responsible to deliver project initiatives within quality and schedule requirements whilst consulting with other stakeholders within technical services, operational leadership and external consultants.

Desired Candidate Profile

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Bachelor s degree in Metallurgical, Minerals/Chemical Engineering.

Minimum 8 years of site experience in metallurgical operations, engineering, and laboratory environment related to gold and base metal extraction processes.

Ability to initiate, evaluate and complete plant improvement projects.

Knowledge of annual planning processes including budgeting and forecasting.

Knowledge of Metallurgical Accounting Standard.

Experience with plant control systems and use of data historian trends for operating and reporting.

Ability to present to and collaborate with site Senior Leadership Team as required

Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access) required

Knowledge in Safety requirements.

Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
