Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

At Eni, we are looking for a Lead ICSS Telecom & Instrumentation Engineer within Eni Iraq B.V. in Basra, Iraq. You should have extensive experience in oil and gas, petrochemical projects, and power plant projects.

Your employment contract will be managed by Eni International Resources Ltd (EIRL).

Main responsibilities:

  • ICSS Telecom, Instrumentation, automation and control systems concept design and/or detailed engineering design.
  • Preparation of ITT documentation and technical bid review for ICSS Telecom, Instrumentation, automation and control systems.
  • Review of contractors ICSS Telecom, Instrumentation, automation and control systems design.
  • Technical ICSS Telecom, Instrumentation, automation and control support for commissioning and production start-up.
  • Selection of the best technical and economical solutions for the production facility.
  • Supervising Engineering Detail Contractors during design, procurement and construction activities, ensuring the quality of works in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Providing technical input, in line with project requirements, into technical studies and Basis of Design for production and processing facilities.
  • Ensuring a smooth and effective transfer of data and information between contractors and between contractors and the Company.
  • Identifying and adopting appropriate ICSS Telecom, Instrumentation, automation and control engineering standards, with due consideration of environmental and logistical conditions of the equipment.
  • Defining ICSS Telecom, Instrumentation, automation and control systems requirements.
  • Providing guidance and supervision for the 3D Model Review and related follow-on activities.Optimising installation and construction activities/sequences, minimising cost and safety risks.
  • Participating in process safety review activities.
  • Acting as coordinator in resolving technical issues related to ICSS Telecom, Instrumentation, automation and control for the Project.
  • Training and mentoring local junior engineers.

Skills and experience required:

  • Extensive experience in control systems and telecom networks.
  • Degree in Electronic Engineering, preferably with a specialisation in automation and telecom, or equivalent.
  • Previous experience with DCS/SCADA system vendors is appreciated.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Experience with software such as Integrap, Intools, and preparation of instrument data sheets.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for working with local specialists and a good ability to clearly explain and describe technical matters.
