Roles & Responsibilities
Wood is currently recruiting for a Lead QA_QC Engineer to join its Singapore business unit focusing on providing leadership, mentoring and oversight of Quality project Leads for a major onshore brownfield project in Basra, Iraq on 5*3 rotation.
This is a full-time onsite position in Basra, Iraq, with travel requirement.
Reports to: Project Execution Manager
Skills:
- Strong Engineering background in oil and gas industry
- Communicates effectively and has strong written and verbal communication skills
- A history of working in a complex cross-functional business environment
- Familiarization with dispute resolution procedures and administration
- Proactive identification of internal and external business risks and dispute resolutions without adverse impact to project progress and completion.
- Effective business relationship with all stakeholders.
Systems:
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams etc.)
- Maximo

Job Purpose
- As an integral member of the project leadership team, support the Project Manager in providing insights that contribute to the strategic direction for the successful execution of the projects on the Quality perspectives.
- Provide leadership, mentoring and oversight of Quality project Leads during the execution phase of the project.
- Interface with stakeholders for participation in various project meetings/workshops i.e. Factory Acceptance Testing, Technical Bid Evaluations, Projects Specifications update.
- Secure Qualified Resources (Including Review of Proposed PMC Candidates) and Deploy into the Project Engineer s Project Team
- Pre-EPC Award, the Quality Manager Supports the FOD Execution Planning Section Heads (Responsible for Integrated Pre-Award
- E, P, C, and Contracting Planning) to Ensure Quality Requirements are Incorporated and Met.
- Participates in the Project Leadership Team established by the FOD Major Projects Project Manager
- Surveillance of Work by Quality Leads and other Quality Resources Overseeing Contractor Work
- Participate in Quality System Checkpoints and Decision Points Including Endorsements/Approvals as Required by Procedures
- Management of Administrative Duties Including Career Development, Training, Performance Evaluations, and Timesheets
- Ensure Quality System Implementation Across All Scopes
- During Contract Development Ensure Contractual Definition and Coordination Procedures Meet Quality Requirements
- Section Head Endorses the Quality Plans and any Deviations After Endorsement

Expected:
- Bachelor s degree in engineering
- Minimum of 12 years experience in project management and the execution of oil and gas projects
- Leadership role (Portfolio Manager or Project Manager) for medium or large projects ($ 500M and above)
