Roles & Responsibilities


About the Role:

We are seeking a Lead Specialist GIS to lead the development, management, and strategic application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) within the Exploration Geosciences department. This role ensures the integrity, accessibility, and innovation of spatial data to support mineral exploration and geoscientific decision-making.


Key Responsibilities:

Oversee GIS infrastructure, databases, and software tools used in exploration activities. Develop and maintain spatial data models and mapping standards. Collaborate with geologists and exploration teams to deliver high-quality spatial analysis and visualizations. Integrate remote sensing, geophysical, and geochemical datasets into GIS platforms. Ensure data governance, accuracy, and compliance with internal and external standards. Provide technical leadership and training to GIS users across the organization. Evaluate and implement new GIS technologies and methodologies. Support project planning, reporting, and decision-making through spatial intelligence.


Qualifications:

Bachelor s degree in GIS, Geoscience, Geography, or related field. Master s degree or certifications in GIS (e.g., ESRI, GISP) preferred.


Experience:

8 10 years of experience in GIS roles, with strong exposure to mineral exploration and geoscientific applications.


Skills & Competencies:

Advanced proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and spatial databases. Experience with geoscientific data integration and visualization. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and stakeholder engagement. Ability to manage complex datasets and lead cross-functional projects.
