Roles & Responsibilities


Job Purpose

The Lead Specialist, PIMS/PI is responsible for maintaining and optimizing the organization's Process Information Management Systems (PIMS) and Plant Information (PI) infrastructure. This role supports the digitalization strategy by ensuring effective data flow between OT and IT networks, enhancing data accessibility, and providing reliable data for operational analysis and improvements. The specialist will help transform plant data into useful insights to support digitalization initiatives.

Key Accountabilities

PIMS/PI System Administration & Support:

  • Administer and optimize Yokogawa Exaquantum and OSI PI historian Applications, including reviewing error logs, conducting system health checks, and managing backups.
  • Configure and maintain PI DataLink, develop PI Asset Framework structures, PI Vision dashboards, and utilize the PI Business Integration tool.
  • Maintain Yokogawa Alarm Report & Analytics and Sequence of Event Recorder systems.

Data Integration & Digitalization Support:

  • Support the integration of data between Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) networks for digitalization initiatives.
  • Maintain understanding of various layers in the OT network and their connectivity to IT systems for data flow.
  • Collaborate with the Digitalization - Infrastructure team to align PIMS/PI systems with digital infrastructure needs.

Reporting & Analytics Assistance:

  • Create essential Production Reports, Alarm Reports, and Process Graphics within OSI PI and Yokogawa Exaquantum.
  • Provide data support to data scientists and operational teams, helping them leverage PIMS/PI data for analysis and improvement initiatives.

Technical Support & Collaboration:

  • Act as a technical point of contact for departments regarding process information systems, offering guidance and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with ICT personnel to ensure efficient data transfer and system interoperability.
  • Support best practices in process data management and integration for digitalization goals.

Desired Candidate Profile

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor s degree in Electronics Communication, Information Technology, Instrumentation and Control, or a related engineering/technical discipline.

Minimum Experience:

10+ years of experience in the manufacturing industry, with hands-on experience in the administration, development, and integration of PIMS/PI systems (e.g., OSI PI, Yokogawa Exaquantum).

Experience in OT/IT data integration projects and supporting digitalization initiatives.
