Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Student Support & Engagement
    • Assist students with special educational needs inside and outside the classroom
    • Encourage academic, social and emotional development to foster independence
    • Help implement and monitor IEP goals, tracking progress and adjusting support
    • Provide one-on-one or small-group instruction as directed
  • Instructional & Classroom Assistance
    • Prepare and adapt learning materials for differentiated instruction
    • Support classroom routines, maintain a safe environment, and uphold inclusion
    • Use visual aids, educational games and assistive technology to enhance learning
    • Reinforce positive behavior and engagement during lessons
  • Monitoring & Reporting
    • Observe, record and report on student performance, behavior and development
    • Share feedback with teachers and the SEN team to inform instructional planning
    • Maintain confidential, accurate documentation of student progress
  • Collaboration & Communication
    • Work closely with class teachers, SEN coordinators, counselors and parents
    • Attend training sessions and professional development opportunities
    • Participate in IEP meetings, parent teacher conferences and relevant school events

Desired Candidate Profile

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent (mandatory)
  • Bachelor s degree in Education, Psychology, Special Education or a related field (preferred)

Certifications (preferred)

  • Teaching Assistant Certificate
  • CACHE Level 2 or 3
  • Diploma in Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year in a similar support role working with students with learning needs

Visa Status

  • Preference for candidates holding a Spouse, Employment or their own visa

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong understanding of inclusive education and diverse learning needs
  • Compassionate, patient and empathetic approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teaching staff
  • Organized, dependable and attentive to student well-being
