Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal consultations to beneficiaries on various legal matters, including personal status and civil cases.
- Follow up on legal cases before competent courts, including civil and Sharia courts.
- Draft and prepare legal memoranda, pleadings, petitions, and related legal documentation professionally.
- Document legal cases accurately and prepare periodic reports in line with project requirements and approved reporting tools.
- Coordinate with courts, governmental institutions, legal actors, and relevant partners to ensure proper case follow-up and referrals.
- Design and facilitate legal awareness sessions to strengthen beneficiaries understanding of their rights and available legal services.
- Ensure the application of confidentiality principles, data protection standards, and survivor-centered approaches in all aspects of the work.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to support protection and legal empowerment interventions.
- Adhere to the guidance and instructions of the direct supervisor and comply with approved organizational procedures, tools, and templates.
- Contribute to achieving project objectives and expected results within established timelines, while ensuring the quality and consistency of services provided.
- Maintain accurate electronic and hardcopy records while ensuring the quality and consistency of legal services provided.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor s degree in law (minimum requirement).
- Minimum of 4 years of professional legal experience.
- Valid license to practice law in Jordan (civil and Sharia).
- Previous experience working with NGOs or international organizations is preferred.
- Good knowledge of relevant Jordanian legislation and legal procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when working with vulnerable groups.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Good computer literacy and ability to use digital communication tools.
- Good command of English is preferred.
- Willingness and ability to conduct field visits and travel within assigned areas.
