Roles & Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Client case Intake and Interviews: support the legal clinic in conducting initial client interviews to gather information on legal issues, protection concerns, factual circumstances, and other relevant details. Assess basic eligibility for legal aid services in line with the established criteria in close coordination with the associate legal protection officer (ALPO).
  • Case Documentation: Record and maintain accurate, detailed case files in compliance with confidentiality and data protection standards. Assist in preparing intake forms, case summaries, and other relevant legal documents.
  • Support to Protection Legal Team: Assist in preparing case forms, archiving supporting documentation. Support in scheduling appointments, coordinating follow-ups, and updating case trackers, support during awareness sessions and training.
  • Legal Awareness and Outreach: Assist in organizing legal awareness sessions for refugees and other community engagement. Help develop simple legal information materials in coordination with the legal Protection team and follow up with financial and logistics components of the workload.
  • Reporting: Contribute in the design and implementation of high-quality analysis, surveys questionnaires, research and assessments.
  • Other Duties: Participate in meetings, take minutes when requested, and assist in drafting progress reports. Perform other related duties as required to ensure the efficiency of legal aid services.

Qualifications/special skills

  • Fresh graduate with a degree in Law, Human Rights, or a related field from a reputable accredited university.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft software applications MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with legal research methods and case documentation. Adherence to the basic protection principles and standards, ensuring confidentiality and data protection, the ability to analyze information and gather necessary evidence through client interviews and case work.

Languages

  • Excellent command of written and spoken Arabic and English.
