Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Contract Review and Drafting
Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, including warehousing agreements, freight forwarding contracts, transportation service agreements, vendor contracts, NDAs, and customer SLAs.
Ensure all contracts adhere to relevant legal requirements, industry standards, and internal policies. Identify legal risks and propose practical, business‑oriented solutionsLegal Advisory
Provide timely legal advice to operational, commercial, procurement, and senior leadership teams on contract interpretation, liabilities, indemnities, insurance requirements, and dispute‑related matters.
Advise on regulatory compliance impacting logistics operations, including transportation regulations, customs compliance, safety standards, data protection, and cross‑border trade requirements.
Conduct risk assessments and create mitigation strategies for contract-related exposures.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Partner with business units to understand operational needs and ensure contracts reflect accurate service scopes and responsibilities.Support commercial teams during customer negotiations, offering legal insight to secure favorable and compliant terms.
Coordinate with external counsel when specialized expertise is required.
Policy and Governance
Contribute to the development and enhancement of contract templates, legal guidelines, and governance frameworks.
Monitor changes in laws and regulations relevant to logistics, supply chain, and commercial contracting.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB / JD or equivalent). Licensed to practice law in a recognized jurisdiction.
Experience
5-7 years of post‑qualification experience, preferably in logistics, supply chain, or commercial contracting roles.
Strong knowledge of commercial contract law, liability frameworks, and risk management.
Experience with warehousing, transportation, freight forwarding, or logistics contracts is highly desirable.
Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and provide sound legal judgment under tight timelines.
