Roles & Responsibilities

Position Type: Contract

  1. Job Purpose: Lead the organization's legal efforts by developing policies and legislation, enhancing legal compliance, and achieving institutional excellence through providing legal advice that supports the strategic objectives of the authority.

2. Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Law (Master's or Doctorate preferred)
  • Professional legal certification or specialized experience in financial legislation
  • Minimum of 20 years of practical legal experience, with a proven track record in providing advanced legal consultations
  • Deep knowledge of laws and regulations related to financial markets and insurance

3. Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic legal advice ensuring compliance with laws related to financial markets and insurance and support management in handling complex legal issues
  • Contribute to the development and drafting of legislation and policies to ensure legal compliance and strengthen the legal framework for financial markets and insurance sectors
  • Oversee legal compliance by monitoring adherence to legislation and establishing mechanisms for implementation and follow-up, ensuring the protection of the authority from risks
  • Manage and review contracts and agreements to safeguard the authority's interests, identify risks, and provide legal recommendations
  • Provide legal training and guidance to raise employee awareness and enhance team competencies, ensuring compliance and accurate legal advice
  • Manage legal risks by identifying, assessing, and developing strategies and policies to mitigate them and ensure business continuity
  • Prepare periodic legal reports covering legal issues and legislation, analyzing their impacts, and providing strategic recommendations to senior management
  • Perform any additional tasks within the scope of the position to support the authority's objectives and achieve its priorities
