Use the nursing process to provide safe patient care.

Competent in general and unit specific skills necessary to provide patient care.

Administer medications safely and according to policies, procedures, and division competencies.

Able to assess and monitor adult obstetrical and medical/surgical patients.

Proficient in identifying and dealing with obstetrical emergencies.

Proficient in adult resuscitation.

Proficient in operating equipment required for patient care.

Assist Registrars, Anesthesiologists, and Consultants with assessments and procedures.

Documents according to hospital policy.

Prepare, maintain, transport and clean equipment required for nursing care of patients.

Assist with transport of patients to other areas in hospital.

Transport specimens to and from laboratory.

Transport prescriptions and medications to and from pharmacy.

Assist with maintenance of required supplies.

Maintain a clean and safe environment for Outpatient area.

Provide for patient and family psychosocial, emotional, and spiritual needs.

Acts in a professional and responsible manner.

Participates in patient education.

Participates in hospital quality assurance program.

Performs other tasks and duties within the scope of the knowledge, skills, and experience required for the job, as assigned by the immediate superior.
