Lifting Appointed Person – Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills

Candidates should have experience form oil and gas companies

The Appointed Person shall:

1. Be at least 30 years of age or above.
2. Hold at least a 3-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
   Candidates with qualifications less than a 3-year diploma may be assessed by an Asset Integrity Lifting Engineer.
3. Have relevant oil & gas offshore and onshore lifting experience of not less than 7 years, with a minimum of 5 years in a similar position.
4. Possess adequate training and hands-on professional experience, and be competent to act as an Appointed Person for lifting equipment.
5. Be able to prepare lifting plans, supervise, and execute critical lifting operations in oil & gas companies.
6. Maintain a strong focus on HSE priorities, and lead a team of Crane Operators, Riggers, and Banksmen for safe lifting practices across various sites.
7. Be familiar with international standards related to lifting engineering practices, with sufficient interpretation and change management knowledge.
8. Be trained (4-day Appointed Person Course) by an ADNOC Offshore Approved Training Provider, and be reassessed every 3 years as per Appendix-I.
   The training must correspond to the same type of Offshore or Onshore Crane Operation Planning (note: Offshore and Mobile Crane courses differ).
9. Be knowledgeable in lifting equipment, with examinations such as LEEA Entry Exam and Diploma considered an added value.
