Roles & Responsibilities


The Lifting Operation Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all lifting and hoisting operations to ensure they are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and company procedures. The role involves close coordination with engineers, crane operators, riggers, and safety personnel.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate all lifting operations, including routine and complex lifts
  • Review lifting plans, risk assessments, and method statements
  • Ensure lifting activities comply with local regulations, industry standards, and company policies
  • Coordinate crane operators, riggers, signallers, and other lifting personnel
  • Verify that lifting equipment (cranes, slings, shackles, etc.) is certified, inspected, and suitable for use
  • Conduct pre-lift meetings and toolbox talks
  • Monitor lifting operations on-site to ensure safe execution
  • Identify hazards and implement control measures
  • Stop lifting operations if unsafe conditions are observed
  • Maintain lifting operation records and documentation
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, and safety officers
  • Investigate lifting incidents or near-misses and support corrective actions

Desired Candidate Profile


  • Diploma in engineering or a related field (preferred)
  • Certification in lifting operations or crane coordination (e.g., Appointed Person / Lifting Supervisor or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in lifting operations within construction, industrial, or heavy engineering environments
  • Strong knowledge of cranes, rigging practices, and lifting equipment
  • Strong understanding of lifting regulations and safety standards
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Good communication and leadership abilities
  • Ability to assess risks and make sound safety decisions
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple operations
  • Should be able to work at site locations with exposure to construction / industrial environments
  • Should be able to work at heights, outdoors, or in varying weather conditions
  • May be able to involve extended working hours depending on project needs
