Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Install, configure, patch, and maintain Linux-based systems to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability.
2. Deploy and manage containerized applications on the OpenShift platform, including setting up pods, services, and routes.
3. Monitor system performance and proactively identify and resolve issues to ensure continuous availability of services.
4. Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot any application-related issues on OpenShift.
5. Develop, test, and maintain Ansible playbooks for automating various system administration tasks, including software installations, configurations, and updates.
6. Implement and maintain security measures to protect systems from unauthorized access, data breaches, and cyber threats, as per the approved Security Standard. This includes configuring controls, setting up access controls, and supporting configuration and system audits.
7. Apply security standards and best practices to ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
8. Perform regular OS patching and updates to address security vulnerabilities and keep systems up to date.
9. Perform routine system backups, disaster recovery planning, and system upgrades to keep systems resilient and protected.
10. Assist in capacity planning and resource allocation to optimize infrastructure performance.
11. Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify and address potential vulnerabilities.
Desired Candidate Profile
1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
2. Proven experience in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), and certified RHCE.
3. Strong expertise in deploying and managing applications on Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
4. Proficiency in automation using Ansible, including creating playbooks, roles, and modules.
5. Solid understanding of networking concepts, TCP/IP, DNS, and firewall configurations.
6. Experience with containerization technologies and container orchestration.
7. Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) to automate tasks and create custom solutions.
8. Experience in OS monitoring tools, and commands.
9. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and clients.
Preferred:
1. Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
2. Familiarity with other containerization platforms such as Docker Swarm or Kubernetes.
3. Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation.
4. Red Hat Certified OpenShift Administrator.
