Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform load control activities in accordance with IATA AHM, regulatory authority requirements, and company procedures.
- Ensure aircraft weight and center of gravity are calculated accurately and remain within approved limits for all phases of flight.
- Produce, verify, and finalize Load Instruction Reports (LIR), loadsheets, trim sheets, and associated documents.
- Ensure loadsheets reflect actual aircraft loading, including all approved Last Minute Changes (LMCs).
- Verify Dry Operating Weight/Index (DOW/DOI) against aircraft registration, configuration, and crew complement.
- Liaise with aircraft loading and unloading supervision teams to ensure loading is executed according to approved instructions.
- Verify and record final loading figures, including passengers, baggage, cargo, fuel, and special loads.
- Monitor aircraft ground stability considerations, including tail tipping risk, especially on multi-sector and transit flights.
- Ensure proper allocation and segregation of dangerous goods and special loads in accordance with NOTOC requirements.
- Utilize the approved Departure Control System (Amadeus Alt a DCS) for load control and documentation activities.
- Ensure correct data entry, verification, and traceability using assigned user credentials.
- Produce and transmit post-departure messages, including Load Departure Messages (LDM), as required.
- Maintain accurate flight files and ensure document retention in compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
- Communicate final loading and weight and balance data to the Pilot-in-Command (PIC) in a timely and accurate manner.
- Coordinate with IOCC, ramp agents, flight dispatch, and flight crew to resolve discrepancies or operational constraints.
- Ensure all verbal communications related to load control are properly documented and acknowledged.
- Immediately notify the PIC and relevant departments of any discrepancies discovered after loadsheet issuance.
- Ensure full compliance with GACA-approved weight and balance programs and Operations Specifications.
- Adhere to IOSA standards, company policies, and approved operational procedures.
- Support safety reporting by documenting and escalating any load control irregularities or deviations.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Valid Load Control / Weight and Balance qualification in accordance with IATA AHM.
- Successful completion of operator-approved Load Control and Weight & Balance training.
- Authorization to operate the approved Departure Control System (Amadeus Alt a).
- Knowledge of applicable aviation regulations, IATA standards, and company operational manuals.
- Minimum: 1 3 years of experience in airline load control or flight dispatch, weight and balance or ground operations related to aircraft loading.
- Preferred: Experience within a commercial airline environment using computerized load control systems, preferably Amadeus Alt a, with direct interaction with flight crews and IOCC.
