Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Oversee and optimize the entire supply chain process, from procurement to delivery, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Manage inventory levels and storage, implementing strategies to minimize waste and prevent stockouts while maintaining accurate records.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors, securing favorable terms and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.
- Coordinate transportation and distribution activities, selecting the most appropriate modes of transport and managing shipping schedules.
- Prepare and maintain logistics reports and documentation, including shipping manifests, customs declarations, and inventory tracking.
- Analyze logistics data to identify areas for improvement, implementing solutions to enhance performance and reduce costs.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including safety, security, and environmental guidelines.
- Supervise and train logistics staff, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal performance and adherence to procedures.
- Manage and resolve any logistics-related issues or discrepancies, such as damaged goods, delayed shipments, or incorrect orders.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as sales, marketing, and finance, to align logistics activities with overall business objectives.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Possession of relevant certifications, such as a Certified Professional Logistician (CPL) or similar, is a plus.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, demonstrating progressive responsibility.
- Proven experience within the [Specify Industry, e.g., Manufacturing, Retail, etc.] industry.
- Demonstrated experience in managing international shipping, customs, and import/export regulations.
- Strong proficiency in using logistics software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work under pressure.
