Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Coordinate and optimize the supply chain process by analyzing logistics data and identifying areas for improvement, ensuring efficient delivery of goods.
- Manage relationships with suppliers, vendors, and carriers to negotiate contracts and ensure timely and cost-effective transportation solutions.
- Monitor inventory levels and track shipments, utilizing advanced software systems to forecast needs and prevent supply shortages.
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation for shipments, including bills of lading and customs paperwork, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Conduct regular audits of logistics processes and implement proactive measures to mitigate risks and improve operational efficiency.
- Develop and maintain logistics performance metrics to report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales and customer service, to address any logistical challenges that may affect customer satisfaction.
- Assist in the planning and execution of logistics projects, including warehouse relocations and new technology implementations.
- Train and mentor junior logistics staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and professional development within the logistics department.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices, leveraging knowledge to recommend innovative logistics solutions.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is essential for a strong foundational knowledge.
- A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in logistics or supply chain roles is preferred, showcasing a proven track record in the industry.
- Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CLTD) will be a significant advantage for career advancement.
- Experience with logistics software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite is crucial for daily operations and reporting.
- Multilingual candidates will be preferred, particularly those fluent in English and another major business language, to facilitate global communication.
- Strong analytical skills are vital, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions to improve logistics processes.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary for effective collaboration with various stakeholders.
- Proven problem-solving abilities will be essential to navigate unexpected challenges and develop efficient solutions.
