Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Port Process Acceleration
Guarantee swift handling of port documentation (customs manifests, delivery orders, gate passes)
Coordinate 24/7 port operations for seamless cargo flow:
o Prioritize unloading/loading slots for breakbulk vessels
o Monitor cargo discharge storage truck loading sequences
o Cut idle time between port exit and site delivery
2. Transit Crisis Management
Deploy public relations tactics to resolve road emergencies:
o Negotiate with police/military checkpoints during cargo halts
o Arrange emergency escorts for time-critical shipments
o Handle accident scene coordination (cargo recovery, traffic clearance)
3. Cost-Driven Execution
Slash demurrage/detention costs by:
o Reducing port dwell time via pre-agreed trucker call-ups
o Eliminating documentation errors causing customs holds
Audit all port/trucking invoices to flag:
o Unjustified equipment rental fees
o Fake "security escort" surcharges
o Overtime charges without prior approval
Desired Candidate Profile
8 years in breakbulk port operations (Egyptian ports mandatory)
Hands-on proof of moving >200-ton cargoes from vessel to site
Portfolio showing 3 projects with zero port detention penalties
