Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Job Title: Logistics Specialist
Employer Industry: Chemical Trading
Work location: Dubai
Experience: Minimum 3+ years in chemical logistics, preferably with sulfonic acids or LABSA.
Requirements: Bachelor s degree in Chemical or related field.
Only Candidates who are currently available inside UAE and can join Immediately will be considered (maximum within 5 days)
Key Responsibilities:
- Chemical Logistics Expertise Handling LABSA shipments (bulk, drums, IBCs) with knowledge of its properties (corrosive, hazardous classification).
- Regulatory Compliance Ensuring adherence to UAE/GCC chemical transport laws (DOT, ADR, IMO for sea freight, TDG for road).
- Documentation Managing SDS, COAs, customs clearance (UAE VAT, HS codes), and hazardous cargo declarations.
- Supplier & Carrier Coordination Working with tanker operators, ISO container providers, and freight forwarders familiar with LABSA.
- Risk Management Mitigating delays, contamination risks, and temperature control (LABSA solidifies below ~10 C).
- UAE Market Knowledge: Familiarity with Jebel Ali Port, Dubai Customs, and key chemical hubs (Ruwais, Abu Dhabi).
- LABSA-Specific Handling: Experience with neutralization protocols, spill response, and storage (HDPE/PP-lined tanks).
- Software Skills: ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) for chemical inventory, TMS for freight tracking.
- Background: 3+ years in chemical logistics, preferably with sulfonic acids or LABSA.
- Certifications: DG Cert (IMDG, ADR), OSHA/HSE training.
- Languages: English (mandatory), Arabic/Hindi/Urdu (advantage).
