Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
ROLE PURPOSE:
Manage the outbound logistics of the products and ensure efficient and timely delivery of produced goods to distribution centers. Ensures adequate and timely distribution of these elements to attain maximum sales potential consistent with good inventory control.
ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES:
- Oversee the daily execution of outbound logistics operations, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfilment and distribution processing.
- Schedule outbound transportation, including routing and pickup times.
- Oversee scheduled pickup and packing of key account orders.
- Assist in developing and implementing the logistics strategy by developing, maintaining, and reporting production and financial information.
- Organize deliveries to meet given deadlines and customer expectations.
- Develop business performance within the constraints of legislation and rising environmental pressures
- Analyse logistical problems and identify new solutions
- Seek a better understanding of the importance of logistics/supply chain in the site location process and seek knowledge as to how best to develop a strategy to promote their logistical advantages.
- Manage outbound operations and adapt with the flexibility necessary to keep pace with the changes in regulations, customer demand, commercial strategy, etc.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of outbound warehouse operations
- Provide feedback to management on accuracy levels, procedure problems, and recommends corrective actions.
- Report to upper management on stock levels, issues etc.
- Supervise and mentor a team of logistics staff, providing training, performance evaluations, and fostering a positive work environment.
- Maintain a safe and organized warehouse environment, adhering to safety protocols and promoting a culture of safety awareness.
Desired Candidate Profile
- 5+ years of related experience of which a minimum of 3 years should be in a similar position / responsibility, preferably in a similar Industry.
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field with a relevant professional certification.
