Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the logistics team to ensure the timely and accurate preparation of shipment plans, ensuring monthly targets are met.
Provide clear communication and direction to the logistics team to foster a productive, efficient, and collaborative work environment.
Develop and implement logistics strategies, identify suppliers (when applicable), and optimize transportation and flow management.
Organize and coordinate shipments in accordance with company requirements, ensuring compliance with all internal and external guidelines.
Manage all shipping requirements, routing requests, and delivery timelines.
Ensure adherence to customer receiving requirements, including documentation and shipment specifications.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with logistics partners and service providers to optimize shipping operations.
Schedule outbound and inbound transportation, including routing, pick-up times, and site deliveries, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
Define strategies, suppliers (where applicable), and logistics flows to meet operational needs.
Oversee site-specific requirements at ports, yards, and warehouses to optimize operational efficiency.
Identify and address operational needs to support smooth logistics processes.
Collaborate with internal customers (Sales, Production Planning, Technical Procurement) to optimize logistics operations and meet company objectives.
Ensure the integrity and compliance of export documentation, meeting international trade and customs requirements.
Implement the daily shipment plan (inbound and outbound) and provide regular status reports to management and relevant teams.
Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for logistics operations, reporting on logistics performance and identifying areas for improvement.
Monitor and investigate customer complaints related to logistics and take corrective actions as necessary to resolve issues.
Maintain and regularly update the delivery schedule, communicating changes during department meetings to keep all stakeholders informed.
Identify and close existing gaps in logistics processes, driving continuous improvement.
Supervise the verification and approval of freight invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contractual terms.
Maintain accurate system data, always ensuring the integrity of all logistics-related information.
Ensure all records are properly maintained and easily accessible for audit and reporting purposes.
Continually review shipping dates, identify exceptions, and provide updates to management.
Assist in renegotiating terms of business and service level agreements (SLAs), evaluating logistics performance, and taking corrective action as needed.
Support Procurement in analyzing the impact of any logistics changes, such as route optimizations or changes in shipping modes.
Monitor production goods issues (PGI) and optimize material preparation (segregation by orders) for smooth shipment execution.
Work closely with the SAP team to address and close any gaps in system data and reporting.
Support the logistics assistant with import material management, ensuring cross-coverage during leave periods.
Conduct toolbox discussions to maintain EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) awareness within the logistics team.
Maintain and promote Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) awareness across the logistics team, ensuring that all operations comply with relevant EHS regulations and best practices.
