Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Role Summary:
The Loss Control Supervisor is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and improving the organization’s loss prevention and safety programs. This role ensures compliance with health, safety, environmental, and security standards to minimize risk and protect people, property, and assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Risk Management
- Identify potential safety and operational hazards and develop risk mitigation plans.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with loss control standards.
- Monitor incident trends and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Policy & Program Implementation
- Develop and maintain loss control and safety policies, procedures, and manuals.
- Ensure adherence to company and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, NFPA, ISO standards).
- Coordinate insurance inspections and ensure compliance with insurer requirements.
- Training & Awareness
- Conduct safety training and awareness campaigns for employees and contractors.
- Lead emergency drills and exercises in coordination with the ERT Lead.
- Incident Investigation
- Lead investigations of accidents, near misses, property damage, and security breaches.
- Prepare incident reports, root cause analyses, and recommendations.
- Coordination
- Collaborate with department heads to integrate loss control principles into daily operations.
- Support the ERT during emergencies by providing risk assessments and technical advice.
- Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly loss control performance reports.
Desired Candidate Profile
• A recognized National Higher Diploma or equivalent from a recognized University
• Min. 05 years’ operational experience in an emergency service, preferably in petrochemical and/or oil and gas industry is preferred.
• Demonstrable applied knowledge and experience in the role of an emergency response leader.
• Evidence of Fire Fighting and support capabilities within Oil and Gas Petrochemical Facility.
• NFPA Fire fighter or similar teaching background or qualification
• Ambulance Emergency Assistant or EMT equivalent
• High angle rescue or equivalent qualification
• Advanced petrochemical firefighting course.
• Minimum Qualification as follows:
- NFPA 472 Hazardous materials for first responders operations
- NFPA Firefighting course or equivalent
- Incident Command qualification
- NEBOSH certification
