Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Curriculum Delivery: Implement the Cambridge Primary framework with a strong emphasis on early literacy (Phonics) and foundational numeracy. Phonics Specialism: Deliver high-quality, systematic synthetic phonics instruction to ensure students meet early reading benchmarks. Holistic Development: Foster a "learning through doing" environment that bridges play-based EYFS with the structured requirements of Year 1 and 2. Inclusive Teaching: Apply differentiation strategies for a diverse classroom, specifically supporting EAL (English as an Additional Language) learners and those with early SEN needs. Formative Assessment: Use continuous observation and age-appropriate assessments to track developmental milestones and academic progress. Classroom Environment: Maintain a nurturing, highly organized, and visually stimulating "language-rich" classroom that promotes safety and curiosity. Safeguarding & Wellbeing: Ensure the highest standards of child protection and pastoral care, managing the transition and emotional needs of young learners. Parental Partnership: Maintain daily/weekly communication with parents through digital apps or journals to build a strong home-school connection. Collaboration: Participate in year-group planning to ensure curriculum continuity and shared best practices.
Desired Candidate Profile
Lower Primary Teacher – Female | 2 Expat Positions
B.Ed. min, Primary/Early Years preferred
2+ years teaching experience, lower primary desirable
Strong understanding of child-centered learning & early childhood development
Excellent classroom management & communication with young learners
Strongly Preferred: Phonics-based literacy, Tech integration in early learning
General Essential Criteria:

General Preferred Criteria:
a. Experience with British or international curriculum
b. Experience with EAL (English as an Additional Language) students
c. Willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities
d. Living in Sur or willing to relocate – appreciation for outdoor, community-based lifestyle
