Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Develop and implement Machine Learning (ML) models to analyze vast amounts of real-time and historical grid data (SCADA, WAMS, EMS) for predictive analytics.

  • Focus model development on fault forecasting, system stability assessment, and congestion management to provide actionable insights for LDC control engineers.
  • Design and maintain data pipelines and processing workflows to ensure the integrity, availability, and quality of data used for training and deploying AI models.
  • Apply AI techniques to the LDC's DTS to optimize control engineer qualification and performance.
  • Develop intelligent systems for adaptive feedback mechanisms and personalized training paths based on individual control engineer performance data.
  • Automate the generation of complex, realistic simulation scenarios, including high-stress renewable-integrated situations to better prepare control engineers for real-world events.
  • Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of ML models, including deployment, monitoring of model drift, and continuous retraining to maintain accuracy and relevance.
  • Collaborate with LDC Operation Planning, ICT teams and vendors to integrate AI/ML outputs directly into operational decision-support systems and visualization tools.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in data science, ML, and AI to champion innovative solutions that enhance the LDC's operational efficiency and grid reliability.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor s degree in a highly relevant quantitative field such as:

  • Computer Science
  • Data Science
  • Electrical Engineering (with a focus on Power Systems and strong coursework in programming/data)
  • Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or Software Engineering

Minimum of 3 years experience in large, interconnected power system operations in relevant field
